Ingredients
- 1/4 lb fresh stinging nettles
- 1 gallon water
Cooking Instructions
1. In a gallon jar, carefully place the stinging nettles, stem and leaves. Using tongs is helpful or wear garden gloves to avoid getting stung.
2. Boil a gallon of water and allow to cool a little bit before pouring over the nettles. (Place a metal knife in the jar to absorb some of the heat so the jar doesn’t break).
3. Allow the tea to steep overnight. Strain, refrigerate and consume for a week. Optional additions for each cup: mint, lemon or lime juice, cucumber, berries.
