As a part of regular testing for pesticides that the Co-op participates in with the Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR), the Co-op has learned that an unauthorized pesticide residue was detected on a delivery of Dino Kale from Coke Farm. We are taking this incident very seriously.
After consultation with DPR, we feel confident that the kale is safe to consume. However, all remaining affected product that we received has been destroyed, and the Co-op encourages anyone who purchased one of the 13 bunches of Dino Kale labeled on the twist-tie from Coke Farm to return it for a full refund. Affected product was sold at the Co-op between Tuesday, July 25 and 11 am on Thursday, July 27.
The Dino Kale used in our the Co-op Deli & Café was not affected.
