Bread is an ancient tradition practiced by folks all around the world in all sorts of conditions–long before kitchen scales and thermometers. If you’ve been wanting a hands-on experience learning how to make sourdough bread in a low-pressure environment, now is your opportunity! In this class, you will be working on a single sourdough loaf from start to finish. You will learn how to feed and care for a sourdough starter, you’ll observe the mixing of a loaf, and then you’ll work hands-on with your own loaf shaping, proofing and baking. You will leave with a freshly baked loaf of bread and a sourdough starter to continue baking at home. You will also receive recipes for using sourdough discard.
