  1. In medium size mixing bowl, whisk together the half-and-half, eggs, honey, salt, cinnamon and vanilla. You may do this the night before. When ready to cook, pour custard mixture into a shallow baking dish to use for dipping.
  2. Dip 4 bread slices into mixture; allow to soak for 30 seconds on each side.
  3. Over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter on a non-stick griddle. Transfer soaked bread slices with a slotted spatula to griddle and cook until golden brown, approximately 3 to 4 minutes per side. Remove to platter and keep warm.
  4. Repeat until all slices have been cooked. Serve immediately with maple syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar.
