Deli

Our purpose is to provide our community with seasonal, local, organic food that is wholesome, delicious and prepared in our kitchen. We aim to serve the wide variety of dietary preferences of our customers and our menu changes with the season. We purchase certified organic ingredients whenever possible. We always use certified organic produce, grains, beans, and eggs.

Meat

We support small farmers and ranchers who are dedicated to animal husbandry practices that prioritize the health of the animals and a respect for the environment. The meats we sell are sustainably raised and free of added growth hormones and antibiotics.

Produce

We purchase only the highest quality certified organically grown produce and emphasize direct buying relationships with local small family farms. We are proud that our produce department sells exclusively certified organic produce and serves as a link that allows shoppers to support local small family farmers. This supports sustainable agriculture, preserves rural life, protects natural resources and provides our customers with simply delicious food.

Poultry

All poultry has been raised on a vegetarian diet in cage-free environments and is free of antibiotics, added hormones, nitrites, and artificial preservatives.

Seafood

We purchase our fresh seafood from fisheries that are working in an environmentally responsible manner to maintain healthy species populations and habitats. All of the fresh seafood we sell meets the standards for sustainability set by the Sustainable Fishery Advocates’ FishWise program.

Things to Know:

  1. Meat products in pet foods may not meet these standards. At this time, the Co-op can not commit to the standards for meat products in pet food products due to lack of available sources and ingredients. The Co-op staff will look for every opportunity to find the best available sources for meat products in pet foods.

  2. Organic infant formula containing synthetic vitamin E used as a preservative may be sold. Technology does not currently offer any other ingredient that can be used to preserve organic infant formula. Although infant formula contains natural vitamin E, Dl alpha tocopherol acetate is necessary to maintain shelf life and protect naturally occurring nucleotides that offer optimum nutritional support to infants, therefore there is no organic infant formula available without synthetic vitamin E. Dl alpha tocopherol acetate is not considered to be toxic.
