Slow Cooker Applesauce

Ingredients

  • 6 lbs (about 10 medium) firm, crisp apples
  • 1/2 vanilla bean, halved and seeds scraped
  • 1 t. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
  • 2 c. apple cider (or water)

Cooking Instructions

1. Core and slice the apples. Place them in the crock of a slow cooker with the remaining ingredients.

2. Cook on high for 4-6 hours, stirring occasionally until the apples are soft with just a few chunks remaining.
