Round Up at the Register
Each month, customers raise thousands of dollars for local organizations by rounding up their change—small donations that create a big community impact.
The Co-op’s Round Up at the Register program is an easy way for Co-op shoppers to donate to local organizations that are making our community a better place. These small donations add up to big impacts for our community! We are overwhelmed by the generosity of Co-op shoppers, who have helped us to raise over $600,000 so far since March 2018
Benefitting organizations change monthly. To apply or to nominate an organization, complete this form. Organizations are reviewed and selected in October for the following year, applications are due September 31st.
Make Every Day Earth Day
We donate thousands of dollars a year to local environmental organizations—chosen by our community by quarterly voting.
Environmental Sustainability has always been a core part of who we are at the Co-op. As part of our commitment to environmental stewardship, the Co-op donates $500 each quarter to support local environmental organizations—that’s $2,000 each year invested directly into our community.
Make Every Day Earth Day–Vote!
Help us choose our next Environmental Partners. Each April during Earth Month, customers nominate local organizations. Members and shoppers then vote quarterly to determine which group receives support.
Voting Schedule:
Spring recipient → chosen in June
Summer recipient → chosen in September
Fall recipient → chosen in December
Winter recipient → chosen in March
Thank you for helping us make Every Day Earth Day—together.

Farmer’s Resilience
In partnership with California FarmLink we offer grants to support small farmers and ranchers aiming to bolster their agricultural enterprises.
This program targets specific areas:
Enhancing farm sustainability through infrastructure or equipment, emphasizing regenerative practices, soil enrichment (carbon farming), improved irrigation efficiency, and initial organic certification.
-Strengthening business resilience by offering professional services such as accounting system setup or enhancement through bookkeepers, financial planning guidance, and legal counsel on business structure, succession planning, or other pertinent topics vital for advancement.
The next application window will open in Spring 2027. Eligible applicants must come from Sacramento, San Joaquin, Amador, El Dorado, Placer, Sutter, Yolo, and Solano counties.
Sacramento Cooperative Community Fund
Each year, we offer microgrants to local nonprofit and cooperative organizations for qualifying projects through an endowment fund we established with the Twin Pines Cooperative Foundation.
The Sacramento Cooperative Community Fund awards $50–$750 micro-grants each spring to Sacramento-area nonprofits and cooperatives.
Eligibility: Applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits or cooperatives. Funding is for specific projects only, not ongoing operations or food purchases. The funds will be distributed as late as July, so the project will need to be completed after funds are distributed. Proposed project must fit one of the following categories: promoting nutrition or health, supporting a healthy environment, meeting basic human needs, promoting the cooperative movement.
Requirements: Grantees must follow the Co-op’s nondiscrimination policy, avoid political use of funds, publicize awards, and submit a final report.
